DISTORT TIME

Slowly you awaken and open your eyes. You find yourself on the forest floor covered in wet leaves and wonder what exactly happened leading up to this.

A ray of sun fights to poke its way through the tree canopy and hits your eyes making you squint. You raise your hand to try to protect your eyes but just then you realize the sun feels so warm. So gentle. It’s offering you a hand to pull yourself up.

At that moment you decide to gather yourself and stand upon your feet. You don’t feel heavy. You feel alive and all of the colors appear to be brighter, the sounds sharper and more focused. You can smell the air and it feels good to fill your lungs with it.

You are no longer lost, you are on your journey. A voice has been speaking to you in your head and you notice that it doesn’t necessarily have a “place” it’s coming from. You turn your awareness around to see it but there’s nothing there. You no longer have a head that you can feel.

You are just this open awareness - boundless, formless, eternal. Why are you ever scared?

“Distort Time” was my contribution to the beautiful compilation album designed for sleep. I used textures and layers to tell the story of time not existing and your realization of that moment.
