ALONE, IN THOUGHT

@venn.sounds + @soundandmeditation invited me to be a part of their “Opia // Re:imagined” project and my edit is out today!

I’ve been really enjoying doing this re-works lately. They are supremely freeing when the artists give you free reign over their material. Often I have no clue where I’m going to take the new piece until I listen through to the track and then to the stems by themselves. Usually there is something in a stem or a few stems that speak to me or sound interesting and then I build it from that new foundation.

Breaking something down and allowing it to be built into something new is exciting.

As for the visuals: I truly enjoy the edit process and curating imagery that I feel supports the “story” I’m painting sonically. It’s my belief that my cinematic landscapes lend themselves to film, tv, and activities where words fail to capture meaning. Drift away.
